If/Then Statements in the Faith??? Not always.

If/Then Statements in the Faith??? Not always. It would seem to make sense that: - IF a person serves God wholeheartedly, THEN God will let life go smoothly. This is a common misconception. It's a human idea and it's NOT Biblical. This idea is just as much in error as the idea mentioned in my post "Is it God's Will for His Children to Live in Wealth". To defend this statement, let's start with a verse from Jesus   Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. It would seem reasonable to believe that, IF I am good and just, THEN God will make my life easy. God will put wind in my sails in all directions that I may travel. God will proper me in my job. My garden will grow perfectly. God will keep afflictions from my door post. Although this would be nice, this picture is nearly the opposite of what we read from Jesus in...

Why Would a Good God Allow Bad Things to Happen to Good People?

Why would a good God allow bad things to happen to good people? This is the age old question asked by: 1. Skeptics 2. Atheists 3. Reasonable people Nobody should feel bad asking this question aloud or in thought. The answer to the question is of course impossible to determine. But, we can certainly answer it in this way (according to the Bible). Death came into the world through the fall of man. In other words, bad things happen to ALL of us because Adam and Eve brought sin/death into the world. This resulted in pain and toil in countless areas. It meant we will all die in our physical bodies. It meant sickness. It meant separation from our fellow man (through many means and ultimately death). It meant separation from God, if our salvation through His sacrifice of Jesus is rejected (by men who choose not to believe). On simpler terms, it brought pain in childbirth and trouble in working the ground (earning our income would be troublesome for most). And to peel the onion back yet anothe...

Is it God’s Will for Christians to Live in Wealth?

Is it God’s Will for His Children / Heirs (Christians) to Live in Wealth? All we have to go by in answering this question are examples in the Bible of those who were righteous. Here is a list of four children of God, followed by Jesus himself with details of their dwellings and financial status: Abraham considered righteous wealthy lived in tents Joseph (of Genesis. Coat of many colors) considered righteous poor for a season – followed by wealthy for another season his home was a prison cell after Potifar’s wife falsely accused him of an attempted rape. She did this in vengeance following her failure to seduce righteous Joseph. Later, as second in command in Egypt, he likely lived in the Pharaoh’s palace. He was appointed to this position by God for the purpose of saving His people from famine. Esther considered righteous possibly poor or moderate in wealth at the beginning of l...
